Would you like to see a Post Office reopened at Capertee? 2nd Meeting 16/4/13

A second meeting was held on the evening of Monday 16th of April 2013 at the Capertee and District War Memorial Hall.
A group of 16 concerned residents attended the meeting and residents who attended the first meeting and had recorded their names were also listed.
Unfortunately the Australia Post representative who had requested the meeting- time and date, failed to show.
Kerry Linegar has offered to open a Post Office in the original post office building, Castlereagh Highway, Capertee.
We are sending out forms to all in the Capertee Village, Glen Davis Road and Glen Davis asking for them to fill out a form listing the reasons for the reopening of a Post Office at Capertee. With the completed forms we will make a submission to Australia Post. We need everyone's support!
Please click on link below for a copy of the form which you can print out and either post, drop off or email back to us.
Please feel free to pass this on to anyone affected by the Post Office closure.

Would you like Capertee Post Office Services Restored? New Meeting

At the meeting held last Monday 8th April at Capertee Memorial Hall we were told that Australia Post at the last minute cancelled their attendance to discuss the restoration of Capertee P.O. services.

A local resident had organised the attendance of Australia Post and placed notices in the residents letter box's who were affected by the Capertee Post Office closure.

Australia Post informed the resident  of Capertee too late to effectively notify residents and Capertee and District Progress Assn of their non attendance.

Australia Post have stated  to the resident that they will attend on Tuesday 16th April at 7.00pm at Capertee Memorial Hall.

Apologies for any inconvenience to residents.

Clean up Pearsons Lookout Success!

On Sunday the 7th of April 2013, 15 people from the Capertee and District Progress Association, the Capertee Valley Alliance and local community members gathered to clean up Pearsons Lookout.
It had been 2 years since the last cleanup, and the lack of respect for the area was noticeable.
Two utes and a trailer load were taken away.
Now people from all over the world can view the Valley without looking at the muck and rubbish.

A big 'thank you' to everyone who came out to help!

Clean up Day- Lithgow Mercury

Lithgow Mercury 4 April 2013
The Saint
Get involved
YOU can demonstrate a little civic pride in two projects across our region this weekend. CIVIC PRIDE No 1: Sunday is clean up day at Pearsons Lookout near Capertee. The working bee at this neglected natural treasure is being organised by the Capertee and District progress Association and Capertee Valley Alliance who have made considerable progress with their past efforts at the site. The organisers want to ‘keep the area beautiful’ until planned upgrading works can be undertaken. Don’t forget hat, gloves, and if you have a trailer or ute that would also be a help. The work gets under way at 9.30 and will conclude with a barbecue and refreshments.
