ABC News: Lithgow City Council told no State Government
money for Portland Sewerage Plant upgrade.
"The State Government has told a Central West council there is no money to replace a local sewerage treatment plant.
The Lithgow City Council had asked for funding to upgrade Portland's plant under the Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Program.
The cost of replacing the facility, and connecting the currently un-sewered village of Cullen Bullen, is expected to cost between $13m and $15m."
