Weed control- Capertee Valley

24 NOVEMBER, 2011

Journey starts with a single step

Laurie Wadell from Upper Macquarie County Council has been scouring large areas in the Capertee Valley on foot looking for outbreaks of serrated tussock, considered one of Australia's most destructive weeds.
Due to good rainfall Noxious weeds have been growing vigorously, its a shared problem. This program is a joint project between the council and Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority (HNCMA)

St John's Wort and blackberry are high on the agenda as well.
So far 13,000 acres have been sprayed and this coming week (weather permitting) spraying will take place on Glen Davis Road from Capertee to the Glen Davis turn off.
Glen Alice Road to Mt Marsden and the secondary roads Home Hills, Noola, Myalla Dunvill Loop.
To arrange a visit ring Laurie on Mobile 0427 660 045
Capertee Valley residents are very appreciative of this combined effort so that landholders in the area are able to work on the weeds at the same time. Thank you to UMCC and HNCMA
