A bit of history from 60 years ago-from CVA

I found this on the Capertee Valley Alliance website and thought it was quite interesting

A bit of history from 60 years ago

Sent to us by Bill Holleman, Capertee Valley Alliance member.

Top row right - Bill Holleman
Middle row second from left - Bill's twin sister Marg
Bill's Dad had the local bakery and the teacher is Mrs McCalkine

Can anyone recognise any of the other kids?

Further notes from Bill -

my time at that school was brief but with extended family (six sisters no brothers) things were always busy. only remember one other pupil Salim Shara the girls with horror swim in dam wear, not far from bake house leaches and slippery fish freaked them out.

Mr Mcalpine headmaster would bring wireles into class to update us on RED X round Australia trial, Peugeot car always won.

And they were dismantling shale mining plant down in valley. Anyway as with us all, first impression of school time is always the best, keep up the enormous job you people do there, Pearsons Look out looks great
